Quick Start Implementation

Start using your Salesforce org with out-of-the-box features. Expected time to go-live: 2 to 4 weeks, depending on communication and response times.

Who can consider this Implementation option?

  • Upto 10 user licenses
  • Business with up to 50 employees
  • Minimal customization requirements
  • Looking for a low-cost implementation
  • Priority is a quick go-live experience over a custom implementation

What is included in the Quick Start implementation & how does it work?

  • An initial call to outline what’s included and review a questionnaire that captures information needed for a basic implementation
  • A second session to review the object fields you’d like to use and answer any questions you may have about Salesforce functionality or the questionnaire.
  • If your answers require additional effort, you will have an option to either modify your answer to get it to fit within the budget or ask for a change order.
  • If aligning Salesforce with your business process requires deviations from Salesforce’s standard process, additional effort will be required to make those changes and a Quick Start is not a suitable plan.
  • AppShark will train your end-users OR offer to train someone in your organization that can then train your end-users (train-the-trainer)

Pros

  • Faster Go-Live timeline. Effective communication from our onboarding process and timely feedback will lead to a quick implementation – usually 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Full control on your investment. If you stay within our predefined scope, your cost for the basic implementation is fixed.
  • Learn the Salesforce platform better by implementing it right away. The sooner you start using it, the sooner you’ll start thinking about how to leverage it more.
  • Add customizations and integrations later – once you have the basics mastered.

Cons

  • You may not be able to utilize the full power and features of Salesforce due to the limited scope of this implementation.
  • A lack of customization could lead to slower adoption rate. The more tailored your solution, the more your employees will embrace the system and recommend further enhancements.
  • If you require customizations later, standing up a basic installation may not be best use of your time or resources.

Next Steps:

  • Once you go live, we recommend having access to a trained Salesforce Administrator through our Managed Services program. Admins can assist with routine tasks like creating new reports, importing & exporting data, create automations that can improve your workflows and provide support to your end-users.

Base Implementation

Start using your Salesforce org with out-of-the-box features and a limited set of customizations. Expected time to go-live: 8 to 10 weeks, depending on communication and response times.

Who can consider this Implementation option?

  • Upto 50 user licenses
  • Business with up to 200 employees
  • Customizations of Salesforce are required
  • Looking for a budget-friendly implementation
  • Wants to balance quick go-live with limited set of customizations

What is included in this implementation &how does it work?

  • Modeled after the Quick Start Implementation, but with higher limits and additional features. A detailed breakdown of increased features and limits will be provided.
  • Similar toa Quick Start – there is a list of predefined requirements that our team will work on, and as long as you stay within that scope, your cost is fixed. Any changes to the predefined scope will result in additional charges.
  • A discovery call will be conducted where we will discuss various customizations and workflows, while adhering to the predefined scope of the Base Implementation.
  • A project plan and schedule will be provided with an estimated completion date. Any delays in communication, feedback or availability of key Stakeholders can delay timelines.
  • The Base Implementation will also include only out-of-the-box features and customizations to those features. No development or integration is included. Flows are included.
  • We can Install and configure the AppExchange packages you identified to meet your business requirements. This is limited to a predefined number of packages, and our effort is limited to installing the package and ensuring it works in your Org. You will need to work with the package vendor to configure it to meet your needs.
  • AppShark will train your end-users OR offer to train someone in your organization that can then train your end-users (train-the-trainer)

Pros

  • Faster Go-Live timeline. If you communicate well with our team and provide timely responses, you can get up and running in less than 10 weeks.
  • Full control on your Salesforce spend. If you stay within our predefined scope, your cost is fixed.
  • A more customized Salesforce instance will increase adoption and ROI. Basic customizations can better support your business terminology and processes.

Cons

  • Slower Go-Live timelines and more time spent in discovery.
  • Advanced integrations are not included in a Base Implementation plan, and having data flowing between systems can significantly increase visibility into customer accounts and give you more ability to make real-time decisions based on all your inputs.

Next Steps:

  • Once you go live, we recommend having access to a trained Salesforce Administrators and Developers through our Managed Services program. These resources can assist with routine tasks like creating new reports, importing & exporting data, create automations that can improve your workflows and provide support to your end-users.

Expected time to go-live: 16 to 24 weeks, depending on communication and response times.

Who can consider this Implementation option?

  • 50+ user licenses
  • Business with 200+ employees
  • Needs extensive customization of their Salesforce org
  • Prioritizes automation, efficiency, integration and is willing to take a phased approach to align Salesforce with their business processes.

What is included in this implementation &how does it work?

  • We start with a high-level discovery to understand your business, processes, current tech stack and operating systems.
  • Once our estimate is approved and an SOW is signed, a detailed discovery is conducted to ensure scope is clearly defined and is within our original estimate. If the detailed discovery uncovers scope that requires additional effort, you will be provided an estimate and given an option to include or exclude the additional effort in the project.
  • A project plan and schedule will be provided with an estimated completion date. This is subject to change based on scope changes, availability of resources, timely approvals & sign offs etc.
  • We can install and configure the AppExchange packages you identified to meet your business requirements. This is limited to a predefined number of packages, and our effort is limited to installing the package and ensuring it works in your Org. You will need to work with the package vendor to configure it to meet your needs.
  • We will follow best practices in managing your implementation/releases, which includes working with Sandboxes, change sets etc. This also means all parties involved must adhere to the agreed process to ensure timely delivery and a positive outcome.
  • With each release to production, our team will train your end-users OR offer to train someone in your organization that can then train your end-users (train-the-trainer).

Pros

  • Implementation can be done iteratively or in a phased approved, depending on the client’s preference.
  • Flexible and controlled rollout of different features and user types.

Cons

  • Implementation only includes standard Layouts; no custom lightning components are included which may lead to more clicks and a less than desirable user experience

Next Steps:

  • Look for apps on the AppExchange to meet your business needs; often, they tend to be more economical compared to developing those features from scratch.
  • Most standard implementations require some level of ongoing maintenance, which we can support with our Monthly Managed Services plans. Depending on the complexity of the implementation, you may need to maintain a combination of certified Salesforce resources. At the minimum, a trained Salesforce Administrator that can assist with routine tasks like creating new reports, modifying layouts, adding new custom fields, objects etc., importing & exporting data, create automations that can improve your workflows and provide support to your end-users.
  • For complex/large implementations, consider working with a Salesforce Partner to have access to certified professionals that can help you with periodic consultations and complex development and integration projects.
